Why Honda Is One of Harare's Most Popular Car Brands
Honda has consistently been a popular used car brand in Zimbabwe, and the listings on Listify reflect that demand. The Honda Fit, known as the Jazz in some markets, is a common Japanese import on Harare's roads. It is compact enough for CBD parking, economical for daily driving and practical for city use.
The Honda CR-V remains a useful choice for buyers who need more space for family, business or rougher roads outside the city. Older RD-series CR-Vs can offer an accessible entry point, while the Honda Vezel appeals to buyers seeking a modern, compact SUV. The Honda HR-V offers another compact SUV option, while the Honda Shuttle provides MPV flexibility for families or light commercial use. The Honda Grace is a mid-range sedan choice for buyers wanting a fuel-efficient daily driver.
Price Range Context for Honda Cars in Harare
The fresh Listify sample ranges from an advertised $8,000 USD for a 2015 Honda Fit Hybrid to $16,500 USD for a 2017 Honda Vezel Hybrid. Other current sample listings include:
Honda Vezel Hybrid 1.5L SUV (2017, 60,645 km): $16,500 USD.
Honda Fit Hybrid automatic (2015, 65,000 km): $8,000 USD.
These are listing prices rather than guaranteed sale prices. Confirm whether an asking price is negotiable and clarify the payment method upfront. Ask about duty status, registration, documentation and any work required after purchase.
Buyer Tips: What to Check Before Buying a Honda in Harare
Verify the logbook and chassis number. Make sure the chassis number on the vehicle matches the registration documents.
Check the service history. Genuine service records provide a clearer picture of maintenance.
Inspect for flood damage. Check under carpets and inside door panels for rust or moisture marks.
Test the hybrid battery. For Fit, Vezel, Shuttle, Grace or other hybrid models, ask for a battery-health assessment. A degraded battery can affect fuel economy.
Have a trusted mechanic inspect it. An independent pre-purchase inspection in Harare can help identify expensive repairs.
