Borrowdale Brooke is in Harare's far northern suburbs, roughly 16 km from the city centre in a straight line, between Crowhill Road and Borrowdale Brooke Road. Its neighbours include Brookridge, Greystone Park and Hogerty Hill. It is a separate estate from Borrowdale itself, though people often search for both together.

The estate was started in 1996 by Lonrho and covers about 252 hectares divided into some 665 stands, most between 1,000 and 2,000 m², around the Borrowdale Brooke Golf Club's 18-hole course. Entry is through manned gates with security patrols.
It has long been one of Harare's most expensive addresses: in early 2018 its resale prices were among the highest in the city.
